(A young man, shirtless, is standing in front of a surfboard. He looks nervous.)
Hey everybody. (Waves.) What’s up? (Pauses.)
So, the other day, like, well, on my way to school, I was going to school … (Pauses.)
And, then I like forgot to … (Pauses.)
But it’s not like I was like just stupid. Cause I’m not dumb.
But like. (Makes exasperated noise.)
So, when I go to school, I have to go by … the beach and on my way, like, there’s really good waves, and so (pauses and flips hair), I kinda stopped for a little bit, and I looked at the waves.
And I was like, “Whoa, dude, I should surf that.“ And then, I did.
Cause I was already carrying my board.
And, like, so I kinda missed school yesterday.
I’m going to get in a lot of trouble for it.
(Voice from offscreen): Son.
Yes?
(Voice from offscreen): The school just called to say you were truant.
No, mom. I was just. What, what, do you mean called from the school?
(Pauses; looks nervously into the camera.)
Oh, oh. I’m in trouble.
(Shuts off camera.)
